Appeal after road rage incident in Northampton

Police officers are appealing for witnesses after a driver was repeatedly punched in the face by another motorist in Bunting Road, Northampton.

The incident took place between 2.40pm and 2.50pm on Thursday, February 10, when the driver of a white Ford Transit van was forced to stop by a passing vehicle as he pulled out of a parking space.

The second motorist then got out of his vehicle, approached the van driver, who remained in his vehicle, and repeatedly assaulted him. The man sustained a facial injury which required hospital treatment.

It is believed this incident was witnessed by a passing female motorist in a red car and a Royal Mail employee who checked on the van driver’s welfare. Officers are keen to speak to them as a matter of urgency.

Anyone who may have witnessed this incident or captured it on CCTV or dash cam footage is asked to contact with Northamptonshire Police on 101 or alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
