Appeal after man seriously assaulted

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was seriously assaulted in the Bellinge area of Northampton.

The incident took place between 5.20pm and 5.40pm on Saturday, January 29, when a man in his 30s was assaulted by a group of 5-6 males in an alleyway off Fieldmill Walk, near to the Co-op shop.

During the assault the man was pulled to the ground, where he was punched and kicked to the head, before the group ran off. The man then got on a bus and raised the alarm after realising he’d been stabbed.

The man was taken to University Hospital Coventry where he is receiving ongoing treatment. His attackers are described as young white males and all wearing dark-coloured clothing.

Officers are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this incident or may have captured a group of young males running away from the scene on CCTV or dash cam footage to get in touch.

Witnesses or anyone with information which could assist the investigation are asked to call Northamptonshire Police on 101 or alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
